Wall, 2016

Wall, 2016

200 x 100 cm.

Oil, pencil, acrylics, calcium carbonate on board.

Wall is about the walls that we see in everyday life. I am particularly fond of walls; on days when it is raining, the water will drip down along the walls, leaving traces that gradually stain the surface, forming shapes and lines over long periods of time. I believe the patterns created by raindrops to be beautiful, albeit its lack of perfection. In my opinion, brokenness and semi-finished objects also have a sense of attractiveness.

For me, art making is to share my critical thinking on social issues and to express my feeling. The flood of sentiments in my mind or my psychological state is visualized into two-dimensional works. I always believe that artworks truly reveal my essence hidden inside. The handy objects around my daily life are always part of my thoughts.

Notebook-01 is composed of used paper from old notebooks; the lines were drawn under a state of relaxation. I have always believed that my works do not require too much caution and prefer a more lighthearted state of mind when creating artworks.
